NEW THIS SEASON
• Cataloochee has added two new slopes that connect to popular existing slopes. The newly minted Upper Over Easy and Upper Turkey Trot expand skier options at the heart of the mountain.
• The resort has moved the Cat Cage Terrain Park and given it its own dedicated lift.
• For the 09/10 season, Cataloochee is unveiling a new Introduction to Skiing Package, where skiers or boarders get a free lesson with any rental during the week.
BUDGET BONUS
• Beginning January 5, every Tuesday is Men’s Day and Thursday is Ladies Day. On their respective days, men and women receive a free lesson with the purchase of any adult lift ticket.
• Every Wednesday is Family Day starting January 13. On Family Day, one child (17 and under) receives a free lift ticket when accompanied by a parent purchasing an adult lift ticket. DID YOU KNOW
• There’s a five-run tube park in the heart of Maggie Valley near Cataloochee. The park is covered by Cataloochee’s snow making, and features a moving carpet lift and a Wee Bowl Snowplay area for the youngest in the family.
• Cataloochee operates a “real time” webcam on its website so you can see up-to-date slope conditions before you hit the mountain. www.cataloochee.com.
EVENTS
• Cataloochee Challenge Cup: Starting mid January, Cataloochee will host a Thursday night race series, where men and women will race against the clock on a modified giant slalom and slalom course.
• Sunday Recreation Race Series: Open to all skiers and boarders, recreational downhill races will be head every Sunday in January and February, with a finals in March.
