Bryce is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier “learn-to-ski” resort. The beginner-friendly resort has eight slopes ideal for starting youngsters off on a lifetime of skiing or boarding fun, as well as a host of programs designed to take kids from learning their first turns to winning downhill races. NEW THIS SEASON
The mountain is now 100 percent covered by snow making equipment, which means if the temperature is right, you can ski anytime, whether it has snowed or not.
BUDGET BONUS
• Bryce’s First Timer Ski Package gets you skiing for less. For $59 to $73 (depending on the age of the skier) first time skiers and boarders get rental equipment, an hour-long group lesson, and a lift ticket for all of Bryce’s green slopes.
• Bryce offers weekday discounts for active military members and their families, and for the 09/10 season, will offer free lift tickets to military members one day a month. Check their website for specific dates. First Responders and honor roll students also get free lift tickets one day a month.
FOR THE FAMILY
•The Ridge Runner Tubing Park offers 800 feet of snow-tubing bliss, all with its own snow guns and magic carpet.
• Sign the kids up for the Junior Superstar race team, where kids as young as six can practice racing skills throughout the entire season.
• Beginners with confidence should head to Redeye, a long green groomer that cruises from the top of the mountain to the base.
