Ski the Highway: In 22 miles, the Highland Scenic Highway rises over 2,000 feet, cruising through some of the most scenic territory Pocahontas County has to offer. And it collects snow like the North Pole. Cross country skiers park at the bottom of the highway near Snowshoe and ski up as far as their legs can take them.

Hike the Glades: The Cranberry Glades Botanical Area inside the Monongahela National Forest offers one of the most unique hiking experiences in the Mid-Atlantic. Trails meander by high elevation bogs with ecosystems more typical of Canadian climates. The ecosystem is so unique, it even includes carnivorous plants.
